About Birth with Grace

My name is Grace DeMaria. My husband and I moved to Okinawa in January of 2016. Almost exactly one year later we were at the Naval hospital welcoming our little girl into the world. It was during my pregnancy that I discovered how passionate I am about the journey into parenthood. There is so much about pregnancy that I find mystical. The little life growing within while I went about my day coping with bagel cravings had me in awe. While much of pregnancy and childbirth just has the mom along for the  ride, like when the ten perfect fingers and toes are formed or when the baby makes its debut, there are many things mom and partner can do to  prepare well for their newest addition. My heart as a doula is to help parents navigate those waters and have the best birth experience possible. As a doula I am here to help you as you make decisions about the birth you want and those first few decisions you make for your little one in the hospital. I am also here as emotional and physical support. During labor we can try different positions and techniques to keep mom relaxed, help the baby get into an optimal position and have a satisfying birth experience.
